3 Important Skiing Safety Tips That Could Save Your Life

If you’re a passionate skier or an occasional weekend slope warrior, then you know the unique feeling of being out among nature and friends on a beautiful slope or trail. At the end of a fantastic day of skiing when your muscles are tired and your belly is empty you can sit by the fire as you dine with friends over drinks and good conversation.

You were only given one set of eyes, which you have to make last. This is why it is very important that you put on high quality goggles. There are millions of potential eye dangers lurking on the slopes where nature is constantly close upon you. Obviously if you fall, you goggles are really important at this time. You should never be too concerned about buying cheap when it relates to your eyes, so be certain to get higher quality goggles. In addition, before you begin skiing, be certain your goggles fit your helmet or your head if you are not wearing a helmet. The same goes in the case if you wear prescription eyeglasses. You may want to consider getting a pair of prescription eyeglasses if they aren’t too expensive and you ski a lot.

Using the wrong equipment can cause accidents and mishaps that could have been avoided no matter what the sport or occassion. This is true for any number of activities from sports to recreational activity even skiing. It is important to use proper equipment for whatever environment you will be in and the type of skiing you want to do. We do not recommend borrowing your friend’s equipment. It’s up to you where to rent but you can rent from a pro shop near your destination. Or, you can rent from a shop where you live and take the equipment with you. Always ask for assistance, if you’re inexperienced, with proper fitting for ski boots and your skis, as well.

If you live in a ski area you probably have experiences the traffic of a crowded mountain during ski season. Weekends are a good time t practice extra vigilence on the trails.

It is far from impossible to have a great day on the slopes even in crowded conditions. Keeping in mind important skiing safety tips and implementing proper methods for safety is what makes it all possible. Yes, skiing is fun but it’s a unique sport and recreation simply due to the inherent possibilities for injury to self and others. So keep it clean and play it safe so you can again come and play on the slopes of your favorite ski resort.

Thank you for taking the time to post this video. I turn 50 this year, am 50 lbs over my ideal wehgit and a Ski Patrol Canidate at our local ski resort. I have approximatly 10 months to get the wehgit off and get into my best shape for PATROL qualification tests. I will be using your videos as I get stonger and hopefully much smaller. thanks from Mt Lemmon (Ski Valley) Arizona USA
