Hey guys, I got a throwing tip for you guys and you don’t have to be a catcher. This can be for pitchers. This is for position players. This is merely a general mechanic. We wish to work on keeping our hand on top. We're going to use this fence, much like we did it for hitting, where we utilised a fence in our drills. We wish to use this fence to keep us on top of the ball. This is one of my favorite baseball throwing drills!

Come along the fence this way. Now get in position to throw. This would be the catcher’s position, but from here, I am going to come down and release forward. You can simply see what's going to happen. If my hand begins to come out to one side, I'm going to hit the fence. Number one, it'll hurt a little bit. It's a bit like punishment if you do not do it right. But your body knows it’s there. It will discover a way to keep on top and come through.

A lot of throwing issues are began some other place. There's a long time. A large amount of the time it's the front arm of the guy throwing. They don't get in a strong position here where they can pull down along their side. They finish up leaving it open and pulling this way. What you should do is we turn around in the opposite direction. This may be done in a cage. You can also do it on a chain link fence. But we come along the fence the other way and now from here, I am in a good robust position. I am going to pull down and if I come in this direction with my front elbow, it’s going to pull down along the side. If I pull out on the side this way, I am going to bump into the fence.

That is going to cause issues. You're attempting to keep on top while you're throwing, but you're not going to be well placed to do it if you are pulling this way. You can see how straight away, one influences the other. You have to be in a position like this, so we will pull down straight and extend thru the ball. Use this tip, it helped me. It helped me fix my mechanics. I am hoping it helps you also , and have a great game.

So catchers are largely the managers on the field. We tell the pitcher where to get over. Were in command of a lot of things that take place out here. Were leaders on the field. We need to. Were the sole one’s that see the entire field. It is a rule that if you don't like it, don’t catch because you have to be a leader.

So were going to talk about giving catcher signs . Once again were in control of this. An indicator could be coming from our manager in either dugout or were just telling the pitcher what we think he should do. From this position, like we chatted earlier, were in our stance to give signs. We got our third base coached blocked. We received our first base coach blocked. We want to give our signs. We want to give them in a way where only our pitcher and our middle infielders can see them.

Now when we chat about giving signs it isn’t a big score if there’s no one on base because there’s not many folks out there that may see them. But if there’s someone on second base, that is a little different. If there’s someone on first that can also be different.

We wish to use multiple signs. We want to disguise it because this is our information. This is not public knowledge. We do not desire everybody to understand what’s coming. If a hitter knows what’s coming he's sure going to put some damage into your pitcher.

The other part of that is if a fellow on first base knows what’s coming and he sees a breaking ball, he knows it’s a good chance to run. He knows the pitch is going to be slower. That's the reason why we would like to keep these closed. It’s often a good time for a base runner to take when there's a breaking ball coming because it’s potentially going to hop. Regardless of what, it will be slower. So that's why we would like to stay closed and give good signs.

I am going to give you a few examples of different sequences to use. One of them that's frequently used, way to frequently would be second sign. So we would go 3, one, 2, one. That'd be a fastball. That is pretty basic. Some more in depth ones would be sign after 2. So it would be three, 2, one, 3. That will be a fastball also.

There’s lots of different sequences you can use. Look the concept is to keep the man on second from knowing what’s coming or a person on first from understanding what they would like to run. We do not want this hitter to understand what’s coming. This is our data. Were in charge of this. So next time your behind home plate, keep them to oneself. Disguise them a little bit. Don’t tell everyone what’s coming and have a great game behind the dish.

Greg Thomas is currently a little league coach, but has experience working among the pros. He shows his team tutorial videos about the importance of the catchers stance and hitting instructionto help to improve their talents.

So ever thought about it? Does the bat really matter? Does the length, the size, the color, does it actually count in the successfulness of the hitter? The solution to all those is yes. They all can matter. Yes the size can matter. Yes the length will matter. And often, for some hitters, the color will count also. That’s right the color will matter. When we are looking down at this bat, we received to make certain we are assured in it.

So in this lesson we are going to talk of choosing the right baseball bat . We want to ensure that we choose a good weapon because this is our weapon as a hitter. This is what we have when we go to battle and that's what it is each time we step in the box. We are in a battle with that pitcher. When we step in the box it is not against the other team, it ‘ against that pitcher and this is our weapon. So when we select a bat, there’s a lot of bats out there. We want to feel confident in this bat. We need to be sure that this bat is good for us.

Now how does one choose one? Well on my site I got 1 or 2 different charts that may give you a general distance that you want to choose based on your height, your weight, your size, your age. But we want to be assured in this. So we need to make sure that it's the right length for us. That it is not too short. That it is not too long. How will we select that? Well we wish to swing something so long as we are able to control. The longer the bat, physics tells us, with that very same bat speed maintained, the ball will go further.

So we would like to make sure that we have something that's long enough for us, yet we can maintain bat speed. This is going to be determined based totally on your size, your age, your weight, what you can handle at the plate. This is going to be different for every one of you. Also, ensure you check prior to going out and get one. These things can be expensive occasionally. You would like to choose one that is going to be OK with your league. Bats are changing a lot right now due to rules. There always trying to offer protection to the kids on the field.

So be sure you check the league rules before going out and make an investment in a bat as it will matter. And yes I did say that the length and the size, does matter, and like I revealed the colour can. Because if you look down at a bat and you're not assured, well you've got less opportunity to succeed. I played with a large amount of colleagues that would only swing black bats. I liked the normal colored bat. Sometimes I might swing a black bat. Little side note. I have been told by referees, they have got a harder time seeing a black bat on a check swing. Just a little something for you to recollect.

But when you choose your weapon, test-drive them. Swing some of your teammate’s bats. Find one that fits best for you. We need to ensure we are able to maintain bat speed. That we will still cover the interior pitch, that it isn't too long. We do not desire something too short where we won't get to an outside pitch. So test-drive other teammate’s bats. Make a great selection. This is your weapon you're going to battle with. The next time you get in the box, take your weapon, trust it and have a brilliant game.

Jim Jones is a baseball coach who has worked a long side the top in the game. He coaches his team using baseball tutorial videos that concentrate on hitting and catching.

This is one of my favorite baseball hitting drills called the fence drill. This drill saved a season for me, both off the tee and when somebody was basically throwing balls to me underhand from the front, obviously from behind an L screen or some type of protective device. You want to stand fairly close to the net and place the bat at your navel. I reccomend that you stand about a foot away from the net. This is basically punishment if we dive too much or we over rotate and come in. We are going to hit the net. This is going to make us to stay square. This is going to persuade us to let a ball get deep if it is moving.

Right now, I’d set up in this position and now I have to stay square to get thru the ball.

You can see I would like to keep my hands tight otherwise I’m going to hit the fence. We need to find the distance that is comfortable and now I come down thru the ball. The fence is going to prevent us from reaching out too far with our hands, from diving too much.

If you’ve a problem rotating your shoulders, now when we come out I'm going to run into this fence. It’s kind of like punishment. It doesn’t hurt, however it lets us know, it’s automatically going to keep our hands where they need to be. I set up in this position, now I come right to the ball. See how tight I was in a position to stay. Yes we may drag along the fence a little bit, but it will keep us short.

So if you have got a problem diving too much, over rotating, just not staying excessively balanced, use this drill. It’s going to force your backend to get thru. It’ll help you improve. It’s called the fence drill. It'll help you’ve an amazing game.

I have a tip for you. Perhaps a small number of you out there have difficulty dropping your hands, perhaps even higher cutting at the ball. I got a baseball tee drill that will help you out. It happens off a tee.

What I would like to do is begin with a tee that is high. When I have the ball up high, an uppercut’s not going to work. You can do this drill continually. But what it should force you to do is stay on top of the ball, here. You have got difficulty with with dropping your hands and trying to swing this way, you can see I am going to have difficulty getting on top of this ball.

What you need to do, put the tee up high and work on hitting line drives of ground balls. From this point, I would like to come down on the ball. It may drill your back leg working. It will work on your hands staying above the ball. This is going to need to occur over and over for you to get used to not doing this. But we wish to stay up top and come down. I believe that may help you.

Do this drill a lot. Don’t forget, hitting is muscle memory. The more often you can do it, the more you will get used to it. We will be able to dump that dropping of the hands or that uppercut.

Get in a proper position and work down over the top of the ball. So use this high tee drill to help improve an uppercut or dropping the hands. It’ll help you out immensely. It helped me, so I am sure with time and practice it will help you. If you use this drill, your swing will improve and will lead to a good game.

Bobby Hilton is a high school baseball coach who once was a minor league baseball player. He has learned drills from the top coaches in major league baseball, in particular catcher instruction and baseball hitting drills.

If a player is fortunate to play baseball long enough, there will come a point in his career where he is going to be all alone. No one will be watching him, and it will be on him to correct himself to perform. That day came when I was Freshman in college. About half way through my freshman year, I struggled as hard as anyone has ever struggled! I finished the last part of the season 5 for 45 , which is also known as a baseball batting average of .111. If anyone was wondering, those numbers are not going to get you into the Hall of Fame! The worst part about it, is it didn’t stop there. My struggles continued through summer all the way through the majority of my sophomore year.

Going with the flow came back to bite me half way through my freshman year in college. My “flow” started hitting poorly and my talent was being questioned. I went into panic mode trying to figure out my baseball batting mechanics. In all honesty, I hadn’t really taken the time to learn so I had to start from scratch. Well, learning from scratch took me significantly longer than you would think. As a result, my struggles continued through my summer season through the majority of my sophomore season.

In college, at least in my experience, they didn’t care too much about correction or development. It was about getting stronger and performance. I effectively did one of the two! As a result, I had to go back and revisit every piece of baseball batting training info I had ever learned.

The plus side to the story is I figured it out! I finished my career as a Two Time Captain batting over .300 my final two years in college. However, all my struggles could have been avoided if I had just paid a little more attention to what I was being taught when I was younger.

When push came to shove, all that I had to do was spend a little more time paying attention to what I was being taught when I was younger. Why am I making this correction? Why is coaching making this adjustment now? What caused me to fail? What caused me to succeed? If I had taken the time to just answers these questions, I would have known my own baseball swing a lot better!

Be ready for that moment, and come prepared. If you don’t, you are sure to face the same type of struggles that I did.
