What You Should Know About the History of Softball

Softball is regarded as a descendant of baseball where two groups play with one another with ten to fourteen players in each team. The primary key difference between them is that softballs are larger than baseballs. Softball is also played on a diamond but smaller in comparison to that of baseballs. Even though its name is softball, there isn’t anything soft about the ball being used in the game and in fact it is physically harder than a baseball.

Phils’ Oswalt Leaves Team To Check On Family’s Safety

Philadelphia’s right-hander Roy Oswalt has briefly left the team for personal reasons. He’s returned home to check on his family after a series of tornadoes struck the area several days ago. Three large storms rampaged through central Mississippi last weekend causing widespread destruction and at least three deaths. Assuming all is well, Oswalt is hoping to rejoin the team in time for his next scheduled start though the Phillies have made clear that there’s no specific timetable for when they expect him back in the lineup.
