Auburn – Unleash The Tigers
The Auburn Tigers was the commonly referred to name of the Auburn University baseball team who were known to play in the NCAA Division I college baseball and also a part of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference.
The current head coach who is coaching the team for his first year is John Pawlowski. All the home games that are played by Auburn taken place in the Plainsman Park, which is their home ground.
Their stadium has a capacity of about 4096 spectators and fans. Their uniform has always been burnt orange and navy blue. There have been four coaches before John took over this year. Their names were Paul Nix, Hal Baird, Steve Renfroe and Tom Slater. Having appeared in 17 NCCA Regionals and the CWS four times, they have won six SEC championships already. There were a few players that made it to major league as well from Auburn University.
One of the players that are still going strong in his career is Gabe Gross. Gabe was born on October 21st, 1979. Being an outfielder, he is known to bat with his left hand and throw with his right. He made his debut for the Toronto Blue Jays on August 7th, 2004. He has changed to four different teams during his entire career.
Gabe left the Toronto Blue Jays and moved on to Milwaukee Brewers and later to Tampa Bay Rays before settling down with his present team of Oakland Athletics at number 28. His impressive record shows a batting average of 0.243 with 39 home runs and also a total of 159 runs where his batting contribution is also included.
Born on the 14th of July 1985, Tim Hudson who made his debut with Oakland Athletics on 8th June 1999 is another well known player who is as yet going strong. He bats with his right hand and also uses his right hand as starting pitcher. Up to now, Tim has maintained his win loss ratio of 148:78. With an earned run average of 3.49 and a massive 1395 strike outs, he does have an impressive record.
Tim is now playing for the Atlanta Braves which he joined in 2005 after leaving the Oakland Athletics and is their starting pitcher wearing shirt number 15. Tim was a player in the Led AL winning team in the year 2000 and also had the great opportunity during his career of being selected twice in 2000 and once again in 2004 to play for the All Star Team
A famous player of his times was Gregg Olson who was born on 11th October 1966. Although his first appearance was on 2nd September 1988 with the Baltimore Orioles, he changed teams nine times and played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Greg ended his major league career by making his final appearance on 22nd June 2001 playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has been able to achieve a number of deserving records during his illustrious career.
