Bathroom Showers – Your Options Explained
Are you looking to change your bathroom shower? If you have been out shopping around showers, you may have got shock to see the unlimited collections. Of course, shopping for the right shower valve may swirl your heads. The following tips will help you understand the various types of showers in the market.
Shower Valves (Manual Type) – Being one of the most common type of shower valves, these type of showers have a single lever control. The single lever control will help in controlling the temperature and water. These are easy to operate and are available at reasonable prices.
Sequential Type Of Shower Valves – A number of queries keep raising about the usage of sequential shower valves. The sequential valve functions similar to a cooker knob. Turning the lever in clockwise direction will put it off and turning it back will put it on. The full pressure of the valve can be managed at one shot by the sequential valve. The water temperature of the valve can be easily increased on rotating the valves.
Shower Panels – Shower Panels also known as shower tower have been recently launched in the market. Being a single unit, it provides you with everything to have a complete shower. The specifications of the panels may vary depending on the brand. But most often almost all types of shower panels include thermostatic shower valve, diverters, fixed shower head, a hand shower and multiple body jets. Shower panels work great when the water pressure is high. So, you have to invest in a shower pump to make the most out of your shower panel.
Electric Showers – Electric showers are basically used to produce warm water. Since these type of showers require only a cold water supply, these don’t require any major plumbing work. These type of showers are widely popular in en-suites.
Triple Shower Valves – A triple valve has three controls; one for the water flow, one for the temperature and a third which is usually a diverter. The diverter is useful if you have two shower heads. It’s becoming more common to have a fixed shower head above the shower and a hand-held shower head as well. The diverter on a triple shower valve allows you to select which shower head water is fed to.
Sequential Shower Valves – This is one we get a lot of questions about. A sequential valve has a single lever that works rather like the knob on your cooker. When the lever is fully anti-clockwise the shower is off. As you rotate the lever it turns the shower turns on. With a sequential valve “on” means fully on so you have full pressure straight away. As you rotate the lever further you increase the temperature of the water.
Shower Valves (Concealed and Exposed) – These valves are called concealed/exposed because of the type of wall mount. Being in built in the shower valve, a concealed valve showcase only the control levers and hides most parts of the valve. On the other hand, as the name implies, the exposed shower valves are mounted on the the shower wall in such a way it is completely visible. The shower valves can be mounted either concealed or exposed depending on your needs.
Twin Type Of Shower Valves – These shower valves have twin controls. One of the control helps in controlling the water flow rate and other control helps in maintaining the temperature of the water.
Shower Valves (Triple) – The triple valves have three controls that are used to monitor the water flow, temperature and diverter. A diverter is nothing but a controlling device that is used in showers that have two shower heads like an upper fixed shower and a hand shower. The diverter is useful in deciding to which shower that water has to be supplied.
