Better Putting Through Four Easy Golf Swing Drills
Putting is seemingly easy at first glance, a piece of cake compared to the initial task of driving the ball as close as possible to the hole. For some golfers, the short distance is an advantage while others struggle at this important facet of the game. Here are four golf swing drills that are quick to read and learn about.
The first is the one handed drill. You do this by practice putting ten balls using only your training hand. This would allow you to turn your attention to your palm and watch it move towards the cup.
After completing this, then you can conduct putting practice with your target hand. The emphasis here is for you to concentrate on your back hand moving towards the cup.
When putting, follow through is absolutely essential, and to ensure this is done properly, be observant of your putter’s toe. You will know if you’re turning your hand should you see it turn away the cup or towards it. So you know you are doing it right, the face of the putter should be square to the cup.

To achieve this, you can start by putting with your eyes open about ten to fifty feet from your desired target. Putt with your eyes open until you master the distance, then repeat the process, only keeping your eyes closed. That way you can literally be so good you can putt with your eyes closed!
Another eyes closed technique involves dropping some balls to the ground and just putting them. This drill is all about being a smooth putter with an effortless, graceful swing. However, you can leave your eyes open and do the same thing. Now that you know the difference, try to incorporate that when you are putting the balls into the hole.
The last golf swing drill we shall discuss is known as the alignment drill. Simply take two clubs, place them on the green in such a way that half a foot separates them, and in a way that they are parallel to each other. Now putt the ball to see if your stroke is aligned at impact and steady on the back and forward stroke. Though you should repeat this drill until you finally get it right, we suggest taking short breathers if you do get tired.
