Golf Fitness Challenge – Golf Tips Stance

Many more modern golfers have an inclination to misalign themselves when they take their position. Usually , what they’re going to do is aim way right of the target and they do this for a reason. Players who are poorly aligned from the word go and target right are customarily players who try and swing with their arms. When they do this the ball will always take off to the left. So what they are doing with this “right side” target trick is attempting to fix an issue before it even occurs!

In principle, this should not be a problem…but this isn’t concept, it’s golf. When an “arm swinger” forces his ball back on the golfing green by overcompensating his alignment, he suspects he is doing himself a favour. But on those occasions when he really makes a good, solid full body swing, his ball zips off into the trees on the right or into a right side bunker and he gets crazy, and what’s worse is that by employing this misaligning technique he is never going to reach his actual potential as a golfer.

These players need to work on the fundamentals of their swing, using their body in total and not just their arms. But they also have to know what their alignment is. So how can you ( or anyone else actually ) see what your alignment is to the target? Well, here is an easy and particularly effective tip to figure out what your target alignment actually is.

Take a position ( your common position ), target a target that you would hit at, and then lay a club down on the ground from toe to toe. Now step back about eight or 10 paces behind the ball and club that you laid down and sight down the club. Sighting down this club will show your alignment.

If the club is a bit left of the target, then you are fine. But if it’s to the right of the target, you are out of alingment. Straightforward but effective. If you find you are out of alignment ( the club on the ground is pointing to the right of the target ) then you want to work on squaring up your position. Being square to the target is among the most crucial tips in golfing. Each ball you hit will be effected by this stance–either in a good way or ( if you are in a poorly aligned position ) a bad way. It truly is that easy.

Now when you’re certain you are in a square position, hit one or two balls. If the ball goes way left of the target, you know you are pulling it by making an attempt to use far too much of your arms. If the ball goes way right, you know you are permitting your body to slide too much thru impact. By being in a square position and assessing 1 or 2 practice shots, you can identify a lot about your swing and those areas that you will need to work on.
