Important Steps to Liner replacement

I’ve been repairing above ground pools for about Fifteen years now by far the most common repair that comes up is above ground pool liner replacement. Lots of things may go wrong while using the above ground pool liner. Most above ground pool liners normally last in a range of about Five to ten years. Some liners can last 15 maybe Two decades. But for the sake of this article the majority is generally between five and 10 years.

Quite often an above ground pool repair involving a liner will be from ice damage caused by winter. The ice on top of the pool melts at the beginning of spring as soon as the weather actually starts to warm. The ice shifts and helps to create liner punctures. This represents about 80% of most liner changes in North America. Other Twenty percent is produced by things like sharp objects, bad manufactured liners, bad chemistry etc.

Before you can change your liner you’ll need to know what size and style liner you will need. For a round pool you need the height measurement as well as the pools diameter. For an oval pool you will need height, length and width. Once you determined what style liner you have like J-Hook or beaded then you will be ready to start your en devour. I will suggest that you hire a person like me, one who knows his way around a pool. But if you don’t that’s OK, you can do this.

First a measurement will likely be needed to determine the diameter for a round pool followed by the height of your pool. Oval pools will require length and width you may have. Then what style liner you have like beaded, J Hook, ez beaded, overlap or expandable pool liner. After you have this data you’ll be all set to go shopping for a new above ground pool liner. Where the right place to get an above is ground pool liner? Good question! The best advice I could give would be to try looking in a place with a decent reputation and to remember, you get what you purchase.

Once the liner is in place and the water is put back into the pool. Your chemistry regiment begins by testing and re-testing until it’s just right. You see the best precaution one can take to keep your liner brand new is to keep testing the water on a regular basis.

So to make thing go smooth measure twice buy best and test frequently. If you do this your above ground pool liner change will go without a hitch.
