The Famous Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest

Vince Carter has, for a number of years now, been one of the most widely known and respected names in the leagues of professional basketball. Much of this fame started back in 2000 with the world famous Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest.

The All-Star weekend is widely known as one can find information, movies and pictures of it all over the Internet. Indeed, it still has a great deal of interest from fans of the game and of Vince Carter’s amazing basketball achievements. During the match, Vince Carter was playing for the Toronto Raptors, the team which ultimately won. In the game was also his cousin, Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis of the Houston Rockets.

The Slam Dunk Contest of 2000 was Vince’s first attempt at this particular contest which made it even more impressive. Most notably, Vince made the first ever full 360, also windmilling the ball, utterly amazing the spectators.

The Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest continues to be revered and widely talked about to this day. A search on Google Images or Youtube will certainly reveal a large number of interesting and highly rated results of media from the game.

In addition to his famous Slam Dunk Contest achievements, Vince Carter has also been awarded the All-Star eight times, twice in the All-NBA and also in the year 2000, he was awarded the Olympic gold medal.

Today Vince Carter continues his prestigious career in basketball and played for the team the New Jersey Nets since 2004. He is currently playing for Orlando Magic which he joined in June of 2009, playing against other famous basketball players. His professional career in basketball began in 1998 and currently he enjoys a salary of over sixteen million dollars.
