The Key To Buying Boats At Auction

Right now there are cheap boats being liquidated all over the U.S. at local and regional boat auctions that quietly sell for 50% or more under retail. Up until a few years ago they were difficult to find. They aren’t as prevalent as cars or trucks but boats can be found extremely cheap since the owner whether it’s a bank, Gov’t agency, or owner in default can a highly motivated seller.

If you have the time and patience you can find boat auctions online via. boat auction liquidators or general asset type auction houses that will ocassionaly hold estate, bankruptcy, or going out of business auctions in which you can find a boat, trailer, pwc, or even a small aluminum up for auction.

How much can you save buying at auction? It really depends. If you bid and then win the first boat you see at auction you’ll probably may only save 10% or less. However, if you view a hundred boats, check out 5, to bid on 2, and only win 1. Well, you probably earned yourself at least 50% equity. That’s a great and smart way to buy a boat at auction.

Auction houses you find online will typically let you know what type of assets they specialize in and you can find out easy enough by looking at past sales. Boat auction houses are few and far between and mainly sit around the coast lines for obvious reasons. You can view them online easy enough but often those sites get a lot of eyes and so getting a great deal is difficult.

It’s really easy to peruse boats on auction sites like National Liquidators, Ebay, and a few other sources on top of your favorite search engine. Problem is is that it’s easy for everyone else as well. You may find prices under retail but not much. You’re better off viewing sources that not everyone knows about. More on that below…

I haven’t had much luck with boat inventory at fee based Government auction sites. The truth is that the U.S. Marshall Service or Coast Guard is simply not confiscating and auctioning off ‘thousands of seized boats’ every other day. You may find a few damaged boats up for bid and some accessories but not much. You can view any Gov’t asset for free at GovDeals by the way. If you’re seriously looking for boat auctions I’d recommend Boat Auctions Direct.

Quickly find boat auctions and discover how to easily find cheap boats for auction at a boat auctions house near you. Buy any boat direct at auction and save.
